The open house was a lot of fun! A huge thank you to all who attended. It was nice to get back into the scrapbooking frame of mind after a busy holiday season. Brandy Simmons was the winner of the grand prize. I had the pleasure of meeting some new scrapbookers which was a very pleasant suprise. I had a blast making these desk calendars. They were so very simple. I started with a blank 4 x 4 coaster (I found a box of them on Ebay). After decorating, I simply attached a clothespin on the back side. There are several ways to make the actual calendar. One suggestion was to Google "mini desk calendars" for a template. I had more fun using Close To My Heart's My Acrylix "Moment in Time" stamp set. Although, I did find out that there isn't a special stamp for the shortened month of February. I made several for Christmas gifts this year and had a great time making them.

HAPPY NEW YEAR! The start of a new year is very rewarding after a hectic holiday season. A chance to start over and perhaps do things differently than you did last year. A chance to put things behind you and move forward. Opportunities and possibilities seem endless through a set of new year eyes! What changes are you going to make this year?
