Happy Fall y'all! I can't believe it's already October. As much as I was dreading summer coming to an end I have to say I am thoroughly enjoying the wonderful fall weather we have been having. There are a couple of things I truly enjoy about the shorter days. The early darkness gives me an opportunity to enjoy a few of my favorite hobbies, one of those being reading. During the busy, long days of summer I barely get anything read. With the shorter days upon us I have found myself diving back into my reading list and getting some of those books long awaiting my attention crossed off my list. One of the most recent reads I finished was "Marley and Me". Of course, everyone is familiar with this renowned tale of the special place a rambunctious, misbehaved lab found in the hearts of his family. After reading the story, which by the way left me crying for 30 minutes, I turned my attention to my two four-year old golden retrievers. I realized that these four-legged critters have such a special place with our family and I couldn't honestly remember the last time I had photographed either one of them. Thanks to inspiration from John Grogan I will make sure the two, very hairy, members of my family find a special place in my scrapbooks.

Well summer appears to be wrapping up just as quickly as it arrived. I hope this email finds you all doing well and scrappin lots! June Newsletter
I don't know about you all but I am definitely ready for some warmer weather! I hope this letter finds you doing well. Everyone has been so very busy. May always seems to do that to us. With summer just upon us there are going to be ample photo opportunities as we celebrate the season with family and friends. Boy, am I ever behind......
Sorry for the delay in getting this newsletter out. Time is just flying by. I can't believe we are already well into February. February brings about some great things. Of course, first and foremost we have Valentine's Day. Show that special someone how very special they are by making them a handmade card, straight from your heart. We also get to appreciate a day off in honor of our nation's presidents (sounds like a great weekend to get some scrappin done). Something else very special I discovered about February is the week of February 15th thru the 21st is deemed "Random Acts of Kindness Week". In honor of this week take some time to put a smile on someone's face. Perhaps you can simply make a point of smiling at everyone you meet, lend a hand to a stranger in need or anonymously place a note of gratitude on a co-workers desk. Random acts of kindess can create a positive chain reaction both for the giver and the receiver.
Close To My Heart's Constant Campaign could not have been more appropriate for a month that celebrates acts of kindess. This month's campaign is called "Hearts for Haiti". The open house was a lot of fun! A huge thank you to all who attended. It was nice to get back into the scrapbooking frame of mind after a busy holiday season. I had a blast making these desk calendars. They were so very simple. I started with a blank 4 x 4 coaster (I found a box of them on Ebay). After decorating, I simply attached a clothespin on the back side. There are several ways to make the actual calendar. One suggestion was to Google "mini desk calendars" for a template. I had more fun using Close To My Heart's My Acrylix "Moment in Time" stamp set. Although, I did find out that there isn't a special stamp for the shortened month of February. I made several for Christmas gifts this year and had a great time making them.
